Finding the University of Southern Mississippi is not difficult as it is located at the intersection of US 49, US 98 and I-59. Travel times from Gulfport, going up US 49 to Hattiesburg are approximately 1.5h. Travel times from Jackson to Hattiesburg along US 49 are about 1.5h. The University is located between I-59 and US 49, North of US 98. On the map, US 98 is shown to cross I-59. It continues through the urban area of Hattiesburg as Hardy Street.

The Campus of the University of Southern Mississippi lies North of Hardy Street, with the main entrance to the University Centered on E. Memorial Drive. To enter, go north on E. Memorial Drive. There is a Guard Gate station on E. Memorial Drive, after crossing Southern Drive, at which a Visitor's Pass can be obtained that will allow parking in Visitor designated parking areas.
