FOR USING LATEX
TO PROCESS
DISSc
Processing the document
You can process the entire document either

A convenient tool for running and processing your files is available
by using disstool. When you invoke disstool, a package of buttons
is made available to run latex, dvips, the previewers, the spell
checker and to provide online help. These features are outlined
in the help package on disstool.

Using xtem. This is a convenient front end for LateX which allows
control of processing, previewing, printing and error diagnostics
using a convenient interface. The package
is installed on pax. To use this, invoke xtem and bring up the command
file DISSc.tex, or if you are using xfm, drop the icon for DISSc.tex
on Xtem. The file has been correctly set up for previewing in
DISSc_english.vst. There are man pages for xtem and an online
description is provided in
xtem.html.

Using the Makefile which is provided with this package;
This is described in
Using the Makefile to run DISSc.
This Makefile provides a convenient method for doing all
of the processing of this document. This includes multiple LateX, bibtex
and dvips command calls.
This is useful for initial setup or if you want to quickly produce a printable
copy.

Alternatively you can process the document by executing the individual commands to
run various commands in the LaTeX language.

This explains how to use the LaTeX package to produce the files individually.
This is most useful when actually working with the document, editing and modifying
parts to see how the changes you made are incorporated into the new document.
